Scopely has appointed gaming and tech veteran Mike Seavers as its new SVP, Technology. The free-to-play gaming giant plans to leverage his technical acumen and history scaling communities to drive its console ambitions.
Seavers has over 25 years of experience in gaming and technology. This includes leadership roles at Riot Games, Epic Games and most recently Yuga Labs. In turn, Scopely plans to leverage Seavers’ cross-platform expertise and product development background to drive Scopely’s omni-platform game strategy.
“With deep experience working with scaled global audiences and beloved franchises, Mike’s expertise and leadership will propel our tech capabilities to new heights, allowing our teams to design solutions that drive our cross-platform — mobile, PC, web, console — experiences even further,” said Scopely COO Eunice Lee. “Partnering with our cofounder and CTO Ankur Bulsara, Mike’s strategic vision will help shape the trajectory of Scopely’s technological expertise and ensure we’re leveraging emerging technologies to best enhance our player experiences and empower our world-class gamemakers. We are thrilled to have Mike on the Scopely adventure!”
Scopely’s crossplatform ambitions
Seavers will support Scopely’s growing portfolio and the continued success of its titles. Last year, the pyblisher’s Monopoly GO! was a massive success, earning $2 billion in its first 10 months. The publisher also made its first moves on console, launching its party battle royale game Stumble Guys on both Xbox and later PlayStation.

“Scopely’s hypergrowth and track record of delivering industry-leading experiences signals its upward momentum in the video game space. Cross-platform hits like ‘Stumble Guys’ highlight its ambition to create even more immersive and unforgettable experiences that bridge the gap between platforms and allow for seamless, interconnected player communities,” said Seavers. “I look forward to collaborating with the team to continue pushing the boundaries of innovation and am also extremely excited about the many Scopely projects underway that I can’t yet share!”
Seavers is the third major hire from Scopely in the last year. In May 2023, Dave Geffon joined the company as its SVP, product & general manager. More recently, hired Bobby Loya as its SVP, head of studios business development & developer relations. Notably, these hires occurred after Saudi Arabia’s Savvy Games Group announced its $4.9 billion acquisition of Scopely.
Despite this period of change for the company, Scopely recently earned a spot as a TIME100 Most Influential Company in the World.
